"Let Me Flourish My Way"

Giving Children Their Own Space—Channelizing Their
Growth in the Direction of Their Happiness

Founded in 2005, Development Of Self Through Interaction (DOSTI) is an integrated school for children with disabilities. It is a unit of Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF), and has its own wing on the Study Hall School campus in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. Aimed at the need for inclusivity and acceptance of Children with Special Needs (CWSN), DOSTI, the first such initiative in Uttar Pradesh, remains one of the very few such programs in the state.

Unique Features of DOSTI

  • Integrated Setup
  • 1:6 teacher to student ratio
  • Child-responsive curriculum tailored to individual children’s educational capabilities and goals
  • Focus on overall development of the child’s potential
  • Social skills training via social integration with mainstream students of Study Hall School School for all co-curricular activities, annual events, and school assemblies.
  • One-on-one therapy sessions through our Early Intervention Unit to provide better adaptability skills in a classroom setup
  • Vocational training in various handicrafts and cooking-related activities

DOSTI has a high degree of parent involvement and maintains strong communication with parents, helping them accept their children and learn how best to support them. Additionally, there are on-going teacher training workshops and a vocational unit for students to develop skills such as cooking and sewing. DOSTI uses the SHS campus and infrastructure and works at a greater degree of integration with the Study Hall student body.
