A Message of Hope

Our Origin Story

Currently catering to around 140 Children with Special Needs (CWSN), DOSTI’s journey began almost 2 decades ago in the year 2005, with just around 10 children.

Prior to DOSTI’s inception, many students with disabilities were being referred to Study Hall School (established 1986) because of its reputation for being a caring school that welcomed all children. The students were taken in and supported to the greatest extent possible without formal special educators.

In 2005, as the student population increased, an experienced and qualified special educator, Surabhi Kapur was identified and recruited to set up a special-needs division in Study Hall School with an integrated education program. The program began with two teachers. Now, 25 staff members take care of over 100 students aged between 2-21 years with various mental and physical disabilities.

The vision to provide “Education For All”, which began with just a handful of staff members, has now cultivated into a team of many trained and RCI-licensed professionals.

The dream to be able to provide inclusivity, acceptance and holistic skill-building to CWSN has reached great heights today, following the multifaceted efforts of teachers, therapists, parents and our students. We continue to soar to even higher skies with a lot of warmth and love in our hearts to build a brighter and more inclusive future for our dear ones.
